Head to the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia for a special event with experimental jazz drummer Chloe Kim, presented inside the Sydney International Art Series exhibition, Do Ho Suh. Spanning jazz, experimental, minimalist and more, Chloe Kim’s genre bending sound will respond to South Korean artist Do Ho Suh’s large-scale installation Staircase-III (2010) from the Tate Collection.

Recreated to scale, the hand-stitched fabric staircase suggests the passage of time and is symbolic of the link and connective tissue between different spaces and cultures, the world over. The experimentation and improvisational sound from Chloe Kim ties to the installation and plays with ideas of spatial displacement and durational performance. Presented by the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia in partnership with Sydney Festival.

This event will begin with Chloe Kim’s performance followed by a viewing of the Do Ho Suh exhibition, the first solo presentation of the artist’s work in the Southern Hemisphere.
