Based in Kirribilli, on the edge of Sydney Harbour, Ensemble Theatre is committed to producing and presenting the best international plays, well-loved classics and new Australian works. Each season Ensemble Theatre prides itself in delivering powerful, memorable and engaging live theatre of the highest standard. Founded in 1958, Ensemble Theatre is the longest continuously running professional theatre in Australia.

COVIDSAFE PROCEDURES

Ensemble Theatre is a registered COVID Safe business committed to providing a safe environment for everyone. A few operational changes have been implemented, guided by the NSW Government’s health orders, ensuring your comfort and enjoyment are not impacted. Find out more here.

How you can help:

  • Arrive early. From 1 hour before the show, the Box Office will be open only for ticket collection.
  • Download your eTicket and either have it handy n your phone or bring a printout so it can be easily scanned.
  • Contactless payments are preferred, so please bring a credit or debit card for on-site purchase.
  • Download a program free of charge. To reduce points of contact, programs will be available online only.
  • Pre-order your interval drink or bar snack online.

Accessibility
ACCESS

HEARING LOOP
Ensemble Theatre has a hearing loop which amplifies sound for specific areas of seating. If you have a hearing impairment please request seating within the hearing loop when booking. Receivers are also available from the Box Office and should be booked in advance.

WHEELCHAIR SEATS AND LEVEL ACCESS
We are fully wheelchair accessible, have wheelchair friendly seating and row F in our theatre has street level access. When booking, please let us know any access requirements.

Getting There

Just a hop, skip and a jump north of the bridge from the CBD, Ensemble Theatre is situated in a heritage-listed boatshed on the water in Kirribilli.

TRAIN
The next stop north after Wynyard Station, take the train to Milsons Point station, exit at Ennis Rd and it’s just a 5 minute walk down Willoughby Street.

FERRY
The most scenic way to travel, treat yourself and jump on a ferry to North Sydney Wharf (a 5 minute walk) or Kirribilli Wharf (a 10–15 minute walk).

CAR
There’s free (but time-limited) street parking all around the theatre. Please allow ample time to park before your performance or booking at Bayly’s Bistro.

VAL THE MATINEE BUS
We offer a bus service for weekday matinee performances. The bus departs from Ennis Rd, outside Milsons Point train station from 10am to 10.45am, then returns to the station after the performance. We also offer an after-lunch service for Bayly’s Bistro diners. Bookings are not required but there is a suggested $3 donation to help cover costs.
