The Pavilion will become the premier performing arts centre in the southern Sydney metropolitan area, strengthening local and regional cultural values and connecting its community to entertainment and the arts.

Sutherland Shire Council confirmed the decision in 2020 to upgrade the Sutherland Entertainment Centre, investing nearly $44 million into the project including upgrades to the adjoining Peace Park. Since 1976 the Sutherland Entertainment Centre has brought drama, song, music, dance and more to residents and visitors in Sutherland Shire.

The refurbishment of the Centre will transform it into a vibrant space for the performing arts in the heart of the local community. This investment will ensure the facilities are capable of serving the Sutherland community into the future and that the arts and performance culture will continue to grow and develop.
