Is this a live performance?
No, this is a bespoke pre-recorded spatial sound work, experienced in private.
Will there be somewhere to sit?
Yes, seating will be provided for the duration of the performance
Will it be dark in the space?
Yes, lighting will be low to set the mood for your audio experience.
How small is the space?
Large for a vault, small for a room.
Can I take photos or recordings inside the space?
Selfies are technically OK, but we encourage you to lose yourself in the performance instead. Professional recording is not allowed.
Can I take someone in with me?
No, these sounds and ideas are best absorbed in solitude. However companions are welcome for the accessible sessions only, which will be held in an alternate location in the hotel. Call 02 8248 6500 or email access@sydneyfestival.org.au to book.
Am I actually locked in? Is there someone to contact if I am stuck in the room or want to leave early?
The door to the safe will be closed but not locked. You will also be able to contact Front of House staff in case of emergency.
Is there wheelchair access?
Please note access to the vault includes stairs. As such we have organised a wheelchair accessible sessions of In Chamber in an alternate space within the Kimpton Margot. Call 02 8248 6500 or email access@sydneyfestival.org.au to book or if you require any other adjustments.
